Last Thursday began a series of position breakdowns for the Hornet football team. Wednesday is the final installment with a look at the kickers and punters. The defensive backfield was featured on Tuesday. Monday featured the defensive line and linebackers. Friday featured the quarterbacks, receivers and H-backs. The offensive line and running backs were featured on Thursday.
Punters and Kickers
Special teams units will replace both starting kickers. Sophomore Zane Guadagnolo hit two of three field goals for the Hornets last season and was three of four on point after attempts in relief of starter Zak King. He had a season long 31 yarder for Emporia State. Senior Derek Jonas kicked off 12 times for the Hornets last season, but did not attempt a field goal or PAT. Senior Kyle Savner kicked off against Lincoln last year. The Hornets will be looking for a punter to replace three year starter Tyler Chilson.
